Liposuction - Male Chest Before & After Case 3, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Spokane, WA

This is a 22 year old male with gynecomastia from Spokane, Washington. He noticed that he had breast development as a teenager that has been a source of embarrassment. He says he has been hesitant to take off his shirt at the beach and avoids swimming without his shirt because of this unwanted accumulation of breast tissue. This is different from pseudo-gynecomastia where the enlarged breasts are merely excess fat which can also be easily treated as well. He is young, athletic and healthy and thought that with some weight loss, exercise and weight-lifting he could make the problem go away as his muscle fitness improved. As expected, these approaches did not achieve his anticipated results and he asked for evaluation after doing some research into cosmetic surgery and body contouring centers. On examination he had firm fibrous tissue behind the nipple that was symmetric bilaterally. We performed Smartlipo Triplex laser-assisted liposuction on his chest using a combination of wavelengths. The recovery was easy and he was back to work within a few days. These photos are taken before and 6 weeks after the minimally invasive procedure that was performed while awake in the office using only oral sedation. This is a life-changing procedure for most young men. Men’s fitness is often associated with lean body mass, but gynecomastia is unaffected by exercise.
