This extremely physically fit 54-year-old business owner and triathlete from Spokane, Washington, saw a photo of herself during a race and though she looked “like a turtle.” We discussed different options and determined that performing Smartlipo on her neck would resolve the issue of neck skin laxity with laser tightening as well as sculpting any excess fat under the chin. Plastic surgery consultation for a neck lift was also discussed, but the patient was not interested in the scarring, risk or recovery associated with a neck lifts or face lift surgical procedures. A 60 minute Smartlipo procedure was performed on her neck using tumescent anesthesia and mild sedation in our office cosmetic surgery suite in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.  After a brief recovery she was sent home. No compression garment was used. These photos are from before the procedure in February 2011 and five months later. She is very happy with her cosmetic results.
