Laser Skin Rejuvenation Before & After Case 12, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Spokane, WA
Before & After
Case Details
This patient is a 38 year old mother of two near Spokane, Washington who has had melasma and hyperpigmentation or brown spots for the last 8 years. She noticed the brown pigment on her face after a severe sunburn. She has tried intense pulsed light, or IPL, topical hydroquinone with some improvement, but she was not completely satisfied with her results.
We discussed this difficult problem and finally decided on fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing near Spokane, or SmartSkin™ by Cynosure™ as her best treatment option. She had a moderately aggressive treatment with 2 laser passes covering the entire face and forehead in May 2010. She received pre-procedure oral sedation and pain medication for comfort and topical anesthetic as well as nerve blocks and tolerated the procedure well.
Her recovery was rapid with very little pain or discomfort. She describes the sensation as "hot, but not painful". She returned to our cosmetic surgery office near Spokane for follow up one week later. These pictures show her results at 8 months post procedure.
She is much happier with the new appearance of her skin. She has no makeup other than eye and lipstick in this photo. Note how fresh the skin appears and vibrantly it reflects light. She said in her follow up appointment the SmartSkin™ CO2 laser resurfacing procedure “changed my life”. These types of results and the effects that they can achieve in our patient’s lives make this procedure very rewarding to perform. You can see the confidence in their smiles.
