Laser Skin Rejuvenation Before & After Case 13, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Spokane, WA

This patient is a 60 year old woman from North Idaho who we initially met at our booth during a Coeur d’ Alene Resort Health and Wellness Fair and also attended one of our monthly educational seminars here in our office at the Spokesman Review building. She had previous laser resurfacing treatments in California and had considered evaluation for a facelift or cosmetic surgery in Spokane. In previous months she also had laser hair removal in our CDA office. We performed a comprehensive skin care evaluation using the Visia Computerized Complexion Analysis system. She had many of the usual concerns of our Coeur d’ Alene cosmetic dermatology patients. On examination she had prominent veins around her eyes, fine lines, active and static wrinkles, sun damage, brown spots, skin laxity around her eyes and face, and volume loss under the eyes and in the mid face. Options were discussed including face lift, blepharoplasty, and less aggressive non-ablative laser treatments. She decided to proceed with Smartskin CO2 laser resurfacing. Prior to this we performed a laser procedure to diminish the appearance of the veins around her eyes. Then, in early December 2010 we performed a CO2 treatment on her face, forehead, upper and lower eyelids, neck and chest. The procedure performed in the office under light sedation and local anesthesia was well tolerated and post procedure skin care instructions were given. She peeled for about 5 days and then was mildly red for another week, but was able to apply makeup at 5 days. These photos were taken 4 weeks after the procedure. Notice the appearance of the skin around the eyes and her more youthful appearance.  On the day of the 4 week photo, the patient underwent her first Botox injection and in the future will plan to have dermal fillers to treat the volume loss under the eyes and mid face. Smartskin CO2 in our opinion is a great foundation to any skin rejuvenation treatment plan and is currently the most advanced technique available to improve overall skin quality and correct sun damage and the signs of aging.
